Ohio Concealed Carry Resources
Below are a few resources to help you prepare for, acquire, and maintain your Ohio concealed carry license.
Ohio Concealed Carry Laws Manual
The Ohio Manual is an indispensable resource for understanding the laws and privileges of carrying a concealed weapon in the State of Ohio. Also known as the "Pamphlet," this Manual includes information on training requirements, the application process, transportation, and much more. Not only is the Concealed Carry Laws Manual a fantastic reference for anyone carrying in Ohio, understanding the Manual is also a required part of any Ohio concealed carry class.
Ohio License Application
Whether you are applying for the first time, or simply renewing your CHL, the Ohio Application for License to Carry a Concealed Handgun is the place to start. It pulls all of your information together into one concise document so that your sheriff can easily confirm your identity and understand your credentials.
Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association
Once you have completed your training and filled out your application, you will take everything to your local sheriff's office. The Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association maintains a helpful list of all Ohio Sheriffs' name, address, and phone number. You may want to call ahead to confirm the hours during which they accept Ohio CHL applications, make an appointment, or to double check the exact payment to accompany your documents.
Ohio Attorney General Website
The office of the Ohio Attorney General maintains a section of their site dedicated to concealed carry laws and forms. While the primary two publications are linked above, there is also a wealth of information on everything from annual statistics to state reciprocity.
